How to choose packaging tape.

Most offices keep at least a roll or two of packaging tape around. However, it makes a difference what kind you use. Not all packaging tapes work the same, nor are they designed to meet the same needs. Packaging tapes generally have two applications: you use them to seal storage boxes or to seal shipping boxes. It makes a difference what kind of tape you use in either case. Storage boxes and shipping boxes require different adhesives.

TonerQuest carries packaging tapes with two types of adhesives: acrylic adhesive and hot melt adhesive.

Acrylic Adhesive

When you need to store files and products, its best to use packaging tape with acrylic adhesive. You can   use acrylic adhesive in storage
areas with a range of temperatures and conditions. Acrylic Adhesive works well in settings as diverse as warehouses, garages, attics and storage facilities. Wherever you have to keep your storage boxes, you can be sure they'll stay sealed when you use packaging tapes with acrylic adhesive. In fact, packaging tapes with acrylic adhesives can keep boxes sealed for more than three years. In addition, acrylic adhesive packaging tape is clear, so you can protect the labels on your storage boxes and still preserve clarity.

Hot-Melt Adhesive

Packaging tapes with hot-melt adhesive is the best option when you have to ship boxes, because of its superior holding power. Boxes in transit are typically subjected to rough handling. You can be sure your boxes will stay sealed when you use hot-melt adhesive packaging tapes. Hot-melt adhesive packaging tapes are also a great solution when you need to straps boxes together.
